“How to photograph architectural structures” is a course aimed at learning the precise steps through which one can professionally use photography.
Nowadays, photos are everywhere thanks to social media.
Smartphones allow to take pictures in HD and to share them on social media.
Photography and Architecture can be considered as two sides of the same coin: without the first, the second wouldn’t cross the border of the plot in which it was thought, just like photography wouldn’t exist without architecture.
GOALS:
The course is aimed at learning the precise steps through which one can be professionally photograph architectural structures.

COURSE LENGHT:

METHODS:
Training sessions will be held through the entire course.
The teacher will guide students in both indoor and outdoor photo sessions.
COURSE CONTENT:
Students will be provided with the basic knowledge of how to take pictures of architectural structures.
The materials and bibliography will be handled to students.
Each student will be granted with a portfolio assessing the skills acquired.

SYLLABUS:
Introduction to photography: photos are everywhere, in our social and personal life but it doesn’t exist a way thanks to which they can be decoded.
History of Photography: a clear timeline of how photography developed over the course of time is essential in order to understand contemporary pictures.
Photos procedures: it is fundamental for a photographer to know the exact photo procedures in order to capture the perfect shots.
The language of Photography: the basic knowledge of how photography works is not enough in order to proficiently use it. A study of the photography’s languages is crucial in order to get well structured visions.
Photography and Smartphones: the latest smartphones are truly as functional as cameras. There are many apps that allow to edit architectural photos.
How to photograph architectural structures: architectural structures might be photographed by recurring to a variety of different approaches.
How to narrate architectural structure: a photo sums up both visual and narrative aspects but it also conveys the photographer’s vision about the world.
How to edit photos: editing is part and parcel of the photo making process. It is crucial for photographers to be proficient at using the basic tools of editing.
COURSE TIMETABLE:
The course will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from the 6th of July to the 6th of August 2020 from 16.00 to 19.00.
